Adding files and documents is an essential part of any email. But SafeMailer restricts direct attachment of such files.

This is because sending a cold email which includes an attachment can hamper your email deliverability and your emails may land up in SPAM.

But this doesn’t mean there is no other option. You can add all your emails to your Google drive or other similar storage provider and then link the folder to your email.

Let’s see how this is done:

First go to your google drive.

Now add a new folder.

Now upload all the files which you want to attach in your email within this folder.

Once the documents are uploaded in the folder, the next step is to copy the link of the document or the folder.

For this click on the 3 dots, as shown in the screenshot above.

Then click on Share option in the dropdown.

Then change the general access of the document/folder to “Anyone with the link”.

Keep the access restricted to “Viewer”.

Click on the Copy link button to get the link of the file/folder.

The last step is to attach this link to your email template.

For this, first go to your SafeMailer account and open the email template page.

Write down your email content.

We now want to link the google drive file to the highlighted text in the image above.

For this select the text which needs to be linked and click on the link icon as shown below.

Enter the google drive link to attach your file/folder to the email.

Your google drive is now attached to your email.

The folder or file will get opened whenever someone clicks on the linked text.

Then enter you IMAP information in the form.

Once the form is filled, click on save. If your IMAP integration is done properly, SafeMailer will start counting your campaign replies and bounce.

IMAP settings for Gmail account

Note: This section of user guide is only for Gmail email ids and not for Gsuite emails. Example: hello@gmail.com

If you are using a gmail account (example: hello@gmail.com) to run your email campaign then you’ll have to do set up IMAP to check who replied to  your email and how many emails got bounced.

For this you will need to make some required changes in your gmail account.

First go to your Gmail account and click on the settings button.

Then click on the “See all settings” button.

Now click on the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” section.

Scroll down and select “Enable IMAP” and then click on “Save Changes”.

Once this is done, the next step is to generate a password.

For this first go to: https://myaccount.google.com/ and click on “Security”.

Scroll down to the “How you sign in to Google” section.

Here you will see if 2-Step verification is activated for your account or not. If not please activate 2-Step verification.

Now click on “2-Step Verification” and scroll down to “App Passwords” section.

Click on the arrow ( > ) in the App passwords section.

In the App passwords page, Select the app and device for which you want to generate the app password.

Select “Mail” in the select app dropdown and then select your device.

Then click on “Generate”.

A 16 character password will be generated. Please copy and save this password as it will be used for IMAP integration in SafeMailer.

Now go back to your SafeMailer App.

Click on the “Monitor Inbox” visible on the left side menu.

Now enter all the required information. Use the Password which you generated using App Passwords in the Password field.

Finally click on “Save”.

IMAP settings for Outlook account

If you are using an Outlook account (example: hello@outlook.com) to run your email campaign then you’ll have to do set up IMAP to check who replied to  your email and how many emails got bounced.

For this you will need to make some required changes in your outlook account.

First go to your outlook account and click on the settings button.

Then go to “Sync Email” page.

Now scroll down to POP/IMAP section. Here click on the Yes radio button to let devices and apps use POP.

Once this is done, go back to SafeMailer app and click on Monitor Inbox page. Here enter all the required details.

Host: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
Domain: outlook.com
Email: [Your email address]
Password: [You email password]

Finally click on “Save” to set up the IMAP for outlook.

To send a test email, go to the campaign dashboard and click on any particular campaign.

When you click on the campaign, the campaign details page will get opened.

Here simply click on the “Send Test Email” button as shown in the image above.

A test email will be sent to your email account.

You can verify the email and make any changes if required.

Track your email campaign.

You can easily track your email campaign by simply going on Timeline tab.

For that click on any particular lead on the campaign dashboard and then click on the Timeline tab as shown in the image below.

Here you can see list of all the emails that were opened, replied or bounced.

Manage email campaign

You can check the details of your campaign by clicking on the campaign name on the dashboard and going to the ‘Campaign Details’ page. Here you will find the status of your campaign and the performance details.

If you want to pause, stop, or reactivate your email campaign click on the edit link on the campaign details page.

In the Edit Campaign Details page, you can change the status of the campaign from the status drop-down as shown in the image below.

Once you have changed the status, scroll down and click and “Update”.

You can run an A/B test by clicking on “Enable A/B testing” while creating an email campaign. You can run an A/B test for up to 4 different subject lines at a single time.

Once you have run an A/B test, the next step is to check the performance and find out which subject line worked the best.

For this click on the campaign on the campaign dashboard. On the campaign details page click on the “A/B Testing” tab.

Here you can see the performance of all four subject lines. You can see how many emails were sent for each subject line, how many got bounced, and how many were opened.

You can select the best-performing subject line (i.e. the subject line with the highest opening rate) to run your main email campaign.

Edit campaign schedule

Select the campaign from the dashboard that you want to edit and go to the campaign details page.

Here, you will see the edit button for all the attributes that you can change. Click on the edit buttons to open the Edit Campaign Details page.

In the Edit Campaign Details page, you can change the days on which emails should be sent, number of emails to be sent per day, time window and timezone, etc. Once the change are made, scroll down and click on “Update”.

Campaign details page will reload and you will be able to see the updated fields for your campaign.

SafeMailer has a dedicated analytics tab which provides detailed insights on how many emails were sent, opened replied or bounced on any particular day

To check the analytics, click on the “Analytics” tab on the left side of your campaign dashboard.

On the analytics page you can see all the details of emails that were sent in last 7 days.

You can see total emails sent in last 7 days. Total emails that were opened, replied and bounced are also mentioned.

The dotted line in the charts provides difference between no. of emails sent in this week vs no. of emails sent a week before.

You can click on opened, replied and bounced to see the graph of that particular field.

You can use the filter at the bottom of the chart to see the graph of last month.

Individual campaign analytics

SafeMailer also provides analytics for each individual campaign. For that click on campaign on the campaign dashboard.

Here you can see how many emails were opened, opened and replied to, bounced, and are still pending through a doughnut pie chart. When you hover over the chart you can see the number of that particular lead.

Once you have run an A/B test, you may want to edit some A/B test details.

For this first click on the campaign on the central dashboard in which you want to make edits.

Then in the campaign details page click on the edit button as shown in the image below.

Then in the Edit campaign details page, click on the “Edit AB test details” button.

Here in Edit AB Test Settings page you can edit and update all A/B test subject lines and AB Test Emails Count.
